The Library offers an interlibrary loan and document delivery service, through a network of Italian and international libraries.
Università della Valle d’Aosta users:
Teaching staff, teaching and research assistants and final year students may use the interlibrary loan and document delivery services; the latter must complete the appropriate self-declaration to access the service.
Requests made using the appropriate form, which can be downloaded from this page, must be sent to the library at the following email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each request may concern a maximum of 3 books for interlibrary loan and 5 journal articles or other items for document delivery; in any case, users cannot exceed the maximum limit of 10 documents requested a month.
Guidelines (whether for loans or reference-only items) are established by the lending library. In the case of document delivery, the photocopied documents are delivered directly to the user, who may only keep one hard copy of the documentation received. Where documents are delivered in digital format, the user may only print them once and then delete the digital copy received.
A fee may be requested for this service; rates and payment methods will be defined periodically by the University administration and will be published here.
The University Library guarantees interlibrary loan and document delivery under reciprocal agreements. Where the requesting library does not provide this exchange method, reimbursement of expenses is requested and rates will be determined by the University administration. Expenses may be reimbursed in IFLA vouchers or other methods that must be agreed upon with receiving libraries.
Requests, submitted on the appropriate form that can be downloaded from this page, must be forwarded to the email email@example.com.
Each request may concern a maximum of 3 books for interlibrary loan and 5 periodical articles or other documents for document delivery; in any case, libraries cannot exceed the maximum limit of 10 documents requested a month.
Reference-only items including dictionaries, particularly precious works, items published over 60 years ago, dissertations and periodicals, and documents with the shelfmark “ESAMI” are excluded from interlibrary loan.
The loan is granted for a period of 30 days, which can be extended for a further 15 days upon request, which must be sent before the due date provided the item has not been reserved. The Library has the right to place restrictions on loans on the basis of the specific nature of the requested documents. Receiving libraries guarantee the correct use and punctual return of documents.
If, over the year, a lack of balance becomes clear between the documents requested by the University Library and the documents provided to individual libraries, the Library will give sufficient notice and suspend the service until balance has been restored, following new requests to the library concerned.
