Artificial Intelligence and Big Data are profoundly reshaping the ways in which modern economies analyse phenomena, allocate resources and make decisions. These are no longer emerging technologies: they are operational tools that permeate financial markets, production systems, institutions and public policies, generating extraordinary opportunities alongside regulatory and methodological challenges that academic research is called upon to address with rigour and urgency.
The international scientific workshop “New Frontiers in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence” (BDAI 2026) takes up this challenge and directs its scientific reflection towards two major application domains: finance and financial markets on one side – from algorithmic asset pricing to credit risk management, from fraud detection to systemic stability – and the real economy on the other, encompassing the transformation of production processes, the impact of automation on labour markets, the new frontiers of industrial policy and the governance of AI in complex economic systems.
The international scientific workshop will be held at the Università della Valle d’Aosta on December 16, 17 and 18, 2026, structured into two distinct scientific tracks, each coordinated by a dedicated committee. Scholars, academics and researchers are invited to submit their original contributions in an open and interdisciplinary forum, with the aim of advancing the frontier of knowledge in one of the most dynamic and strategically relevant fields of contemporary economic research.
