Asymmetric regionalism and special autonomies in the framework of the European Union: the experience of Aosta Valley and comparative remarks from the Åland Islands

The online workshop will focus on a comparison between the autonomies of Aosta Valley and the Åland Islands to foster the dialogue and possible further cooperation among autonomies in the European Union. The event is structured as follows. In the first part, a description of Aosta Valley’s autonomous system will be provided, followed by comparative remarks from the Åland Islands Peace Institute research group; afterwards, the floor will be opened to questions from the audience and further discussion.

The initiative is organised by the Åland Islands Peace Institute and sponsored by University of Aosta Valley and ASA (Autonomie Speciali Alpine).
